Lapua Brass — Picking the Right Cartridges
What gets fired from a rifle? Even a child could answer this question: a bullet. Now, what do you load into a gun? This one is a trick question, and anyone who answers “a bullet” has given themself away as a novice. The correct answer is a cartridge — which contains a bullet, yes, but also consists of other components. Without a proper propellant, a sufficient primer, a solid rim, or a good case to hold it all together, the only thing that would happen when you pull a trigger is a click sound.
Understanding the anatomy of a cartridge is great for preventing yourself from loading up with duds, dummies, or squibs. Of course, that knowledge is the bare basics. If you really want to improve your shooting, you should know how to pick the best cartridges for your rifle. Here is some information on the top-tier manufacturer Lapua and their excellent brass cartridges.
TriggerTech: The Wonders of Frictionless Release Technology
What is the most important part of a rifle? The question is entirely subjective, and different people will give you different answers. Some believe that the chassis and stock system are essential to making the whole thing work. Others may point to the muzzle brake, and others still will contend that a suboptimal barrel can wreck a shooter’s performance.
It could be argued, however, that the trigger is the most valuable part. Everything else could be shined up to perfection, but without the mechanism to release the bullet, every other part is worthless. Many factors go into making a trigger effective, and whole companies are dedicated to refining their design for the best possible performance.
We have written about one such company, TriggerTech, and their advanced shooting technology in the past. Now, we will provide more information on this exceptional manufacturer and their unique approach to perhaps the rifle’s most important part.
Difference Between MPA’s BA Competition and Matrix Chassis
We have gushed over MasterPiece Arms (MPA) in the past, proclaiming that the rifle parts manufacturer’s products live up to their name. Their Bolt Action (BA) Chassis System, in particular, remains popular among the professionals. To be more specific, they named the MPA BA Competition Chassis as their favorite chassis or stock of all. This system has been a fixture of the game since its introduction several years ago. However, a brand new and innovative MPA creation is giving it a run for its money: the Matrix Chassis. Here is some information on both kinds of chasses and the differences that distinguish them.

What Does AR Stand For?
Engineers at ArmaLite, then a budding arms company, designed and created the AR-10 and AR-15 in the mid-1950s. They gave them the “AR” designation as shorthand for “ArmaLite Rifle,” with the numbers referring to the rifles’ models. In case you were wondering what AR stands for, now you know.
In 1959, the company sold the rights for both types to firearms industry veteran Colt’s Manufacturing Company. They decided to keep the AR-15 name, which has stuck all this time. Other companies can now legally produce similar rifles, which are collectively referred to as “AR-15 style rifles.” Meanwhile, ArmaLite retains the AR-10 trademark.
These rifles were initially used by American soldiers in the 1960s, to counter the AK-47s of the North Vietnamese military and the Viet Cong. Colt would later offer semiautomatic versions for civilian use, which proved controversial at first. People eventually recognized them for their power, versatility, and customizability. According to CNN, “The AR-15 is now the most popular sporting rifle in the US.”
